Terralert has announced the sponsorship of a new
internet based alerting system for missing
children. This system is provided free for all
users. The purpose is to provide immediate
notifications of missing children to schools,
hospitals, businesses and residents. Terralert
will begin the global deployment with the initial
alerts delivered to participants within the Santa
Clara County of California.
It is
Terralert’s goal to assist law enforcement in the
distribution by providing this information to a
wider audience. The Terralert solution will link
any personal computer, cell phone or handheld to
the Missing Children alert network. People will be
sent alert fliers for those missing in their area
within minutes of the abduction. Because of
Terralert's unique network architecture,
participants are guaranteed not to receive
unwanted messages or spam.
We
feel by integrating directly with the computer
systems which police officers use on a daily basis
to create the missing children fliers, we will be
able to bridge their technology gap. Just as
police are able to send color faxes to other
police agencies, they will have the ability to
simply select the schools, hospitals, businesses
or residents to receive the alerts.
