Terralert is deploying the
National Missing
Children Alert Service. From Terralert’s fully
comprehensive alert services,
The National Alert Portal, the delivery of
missing children alerts will be provided free for
all users, Law Enforcement and the Public. The
purpose is to provide immediate notifications of
missing children to schools, hospitals, businesses
and residents. Because of Terralert's unique
network architecture, participants are guaranteed
not to receive unwanted messages or spam.
It is Terralert’s goal to assist law enforcement
in the distribution by providing this information
to a wider audience. The Terralert solution links
any personal computer, cell phone or handheld to
the National Missing Children Alert Service
Network. The public will be sent alert fliers for
those missing in their area within minutes of the
abduction from Law Enforcement agencies only.
Terralert has completed the integration of
computer systems used by law enforcement for
creation of the missing children fliers.
Integration has also been completed with service
providers such as Microsoft's Passport, Hotmail
and MSN instant messaging users for delivery to
the public. A web interface for law enforcement
agencies that have Internet connected computer
systems will be available 28 Feb 2003. Activation
of law enforcement agencies is easy and explained
further. This is provided to help
facilitate the training needed to activate law
enforcement agencies. The process consists of the
following steps:
