The management console
provides 3 majors functions. First is the e-mail
address and Passport test accounts. When you
transmit a message from the National Alert Portal
or your flier creation
computer and place the word Test in the top
header these accounts will receive the alert while
no one else will. This gives you the ability to
preview alerts prior to sending to ensure they are
in a format you like. And of course you can use
this feature to ensure your service is active,
demonstrate the service to others and train others
in your office.
The second is the contact
information. Your alert notification information
is critical. Terralert builds error handling
controls into the processes for your services. If
for any reason there is a failure, Terralert
technicians who monitor the service are
immediately notified of an issue. To ensure
information is delivered promptly and accurately
Terralert must have a set of contact information
to get in touch with the people using the
services.
The third feature is the
delivery radius setting. This number represents
the delivery area for your messages. You have the
ability to change the delivery radius to any
number from 1 to 100. This allows you to send your
alerts to users within varying proximities to your
location. If you need to send alerts to a larger
area please make sure you either contact your
Terralert representative or the state or federal
agencies authorized to transmit for those areas.
Terralert has the ability to
make additional alert services for local, state
and federal for any emergency services need.
From Terralert’s fully comprehensive alert
services, agencies have extremely detailed and
expansive targeting available. There are alert
services which can handle any public address or
secure private alert system requirement. Please
contact your Terralert agent if you are interested
in additional alert services.
One of the most compelling
capabilities available to Terralert services is
the ability to deliver text and graphics. Alerts
are delivered within seconds to police vehicles
equipped with laptop or mobile devices. Graphics
are condensed while maintaining quality. Security
is provided through a combination of SSL, MD5 and
private keying systems. If you would like to use
this feature for free with your missing children
service be sure to ask your Terralert
representative for instructions.
