Users have the ability to access the alert
configuration web site allowing them to customize
the priority and media they wish to receive alerts.
Users may wish to receive specific alerts on their
PC but have other notifications sent to both their
PC and their Cell phone. A user may subscribe
to many alerts using a general profile and others
with custom settings.
Our Internet standard Application Programming
Interface (API) is a set of related interfaces
for standard automation. The object model can
be manipulated in nearly any programming language.
Developers are provided many code examples for
Microsoft® Visual C++®, Microsoft®
Visual Basic®, and Microsoft® Visual Basic®
Scripting Edition (VBScript) for Web page scripting.
Systems can be enabled to automatically turn
on warning sirens or output alert information
and pictures to a special display screen for large
audiences. Consoles similar to those in a pharmacy
to tell whose prescription is ready could be integrated
to display photos or text information to large
audiences. Various types of these screens are
already prominently displayed in school cafeterias,
office lobbies, heavy traffic areas, elevators,
McDonalds and even Times Square.
