You can access our Web site home page and browse our site without disclosing your personal data.

The services and links of our Web site

Our Web site enables you to communicate with other visitors or to post information to be accessed by others. When you do so, other visitors may view and collect the data you post.

We automatically log personal data by means such as programming or we link information automatically logged by such means with personal data about specific individuals. Children's Privacy


We knowingly collect personal data from children. We take specific steps to protect the privacy of children. Along with complying with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we also protect parent’s rights to decide what is collected and done with a child’s information by:

  • Making reasonable efforts to ensure that a parent has authorized the collection of the child's personal data and use of the child's personal data for the disclosure to Terralert

Additionally, Terralert has what is known as our "Above & Beyond" information protection practices and policies. These practices and policies are in place to ensure that children's privacy is respected on our Web site. This policy ensures privacy by:

  • Utilizing online child account systems which parents may use to ensure they are informed and provide the ability to manage a child’s data
  • Giving parents the option to consent to the collection and use of the child's personal data for our internal use for providing alerts, content and collaboration means which are suitable for the child
  • Only provide our services to authentication system, processes and services which comply with Terralert's "Above & Beyond" information protection practices and policies
  • Protect data with high levels of technical systems such as multi-tier firewalls, SSL encryption and multi-tier web architectures

We do provide information about our personal data practices in relation to children on our home page and wherever we knowingly collect personal data from children on our Web site.

Disclosure and Visitor Choice

We do not disclose your personal data to any third party organization, subsidiaries or other organizations. Where we disclose your personal data for purposes which are different from those indicated, we require your consent for disclosure. For example: when subscribing to a private alerting service. When subscribing to a Private alerting or collaboration service, please be sure to read the privacy policy and terms of use statements specific to that service.

Confidentiality / Security

We require the use of a secure transmission method such as SSL to send us the following types of personal data:

  • other personal and profiling data (such as physical description, leisure activities)

In the case of a child we will require proof of your identity, proof of the child's identity and proof of custody/guardianship. We allow you to challenge the data that we hold about you and, where appropriate, you may have the data:

  • rectified or amended
  • completed

We reserve the right to refuse to provide our visitors with a copy of their personal data, but will give reasons for our refusal. Example reason for refusal: abusive or foul remarks or comments in the request causing an intolerable work situation for processors.
